The El Paso region is at the forefront of stopping the number-one killer of teens in America—car crashes. In October 2006, TTI launched its highly successful Teens in the Driver Seat® (TDS) peer-to-peer driver safety outreach program in El Paso high schools. Approximately 15 high schools in the El Paso area are in varying stages of TDS program deployment. More than 200 teens and safety professionals gathered on Saturday, November 14, at El Paso Community College for the second annual Teens in the Driver Seat Summit. That’s 31 high schools, 15 cities, 4 states, and 2 countries that were represented by attendees at the Summit. The TDS Summit was big news in El Paso as several different news outlets in El Paso interviewed teens that attended the event.
